The process of re-shaping the material surface of a round tube into a thread form. Thread rolling is not a metal cutting process. An advantage of the rolling process is that no stock is wasted in forming the thread, and the surface of a rolled thread is harder than that of a cut thread, thus increasing wear resistance. When considering thread rolling consideration should be taken regarding the outside diameter and length of the part that will need to be threaded. Accurate Forming provides our deep drawn product with thread rolling when screw threads are required or for a decorative finish on the part.
Below is an example of deep drawn product that Accurate Forming has added thread rolling to the part.
